Symposium ‘Digitalisation of Justice’:
Perspectives from Germany and the Netherlands

Law needs to change with the times – but to what extent? Rapid developments in technology have introduced ways that not only impact individuals and businesses, but also courts and other dispute resolution institutions. How these developments can be taken advantage of to improve the finding of justice needs careful consideration. A completely off-premises criminal trial for example could bring large benefits for the court system (i.e. lower costs) but could, at the same time, introduce semantic and body-language misconceptions.
This symposium provides a platform for renowned scholars to present their research into the digitalisation of justice. It therefore does not focus on specific topics, but leaves it up to the speakers to identify important aspects. The programme below does not yet include titles – this will follow once registrations open in January 2026.
