WEAKER PIL – Helping People in Cross-Border Problems
WEAKER PIL is a research project. It looks at how laws work when people or small businesses have problems that involve more than one country. The project wants to help people who don’t have much power or money in these situations.

Why?
Today, people buy things, work, and make deals across borders. But the rules are not always fair, especially for regular people or small businesses. WEAKER PIL tries to find better ways to protect them.
What Does the Project Look At?

Where can I go to solve my issue?
Figuring out which country’s court should handle the case when people or businesses from different countries are involved.

Which rules apply to my issue?
Looking at which country’s legal rules should be used to solve the problem in a fair way.

How can I make the other party do what they promised?
Ensuring that a court’s decision is respected and carried out, even if it needs to happen in another country.
Who Needs Help?
We help, for example:
- A small shop working with a large foreign business
- A shopper buying from a foreign website
- An employee working for a big company from another country

Who Is Behind It?
The team includes people who study law and economics. They work together to find simple and fair ways to fix these problems.
